Plug guide for North America
North America and the Caribbean run on a mix of standards. Mainland North America (USA, Canada, Mexico) and most of Central America use Type A and B plugs at 110–127 V, 60 Hz. The Caribbean is more varied: some islands stick with the US 120 V, Type A/B convention, while ex-British islands (Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Grenada) run 230 V on the British Type G. Travelling within mainland North America, plug compatibility is rarely an issue. Hopping into the Caribbean, double-check the destination — the country profile lists every plug shape you'll encounter.
